Cottesloe

Cottesloe

The Town of Cottesloe and The Grove Library have developed two trails for Cottesloe.

The Cottesloe Architectural Heritage Tour guides walkers along a 1.5 km trail highlighting the domestic architectural styles still proudly maintained in this iconic suburb. App users will learn to appreciate the design details of heritage buildings along the route, with the app presenting reference material about the architectural features and historical details of each building.

The Cottesloe Beach Heritage Trail is 3.5 km long and stretches the length of the Cottesloe Foreshore. Curated by The Grove Community History Librarian, this tour guides walkers through the colourful history of the beach precinct and offers an insight into life in 20th Century Cottesloe. The shared coastal path can be walked at a leisurely pace and takes approximately 2 hours to complete. Cafes shops and restaurants can be found along most of the trail.

Peppermint Grove

Peppermint Grove

This is the first tour we created designed to showcase the beautiful suburb of Peppermint Grove. It was made possible with generous funding from the Department of Culture and the Arts.
Those taking this tour will be able to view historic images and listen to narrations about points of interest viewable along the trail. The route has been designed to take around an 1.5 hours to complete, in a circuit from The Grove; a pleasant outdoor activity for residents and visitors of Peppermint Grove. Cafes and toilets are available at the start and midway along the trail.

Mosman Park

Mosman Park

This is a fascinating heritage trail detailing the history of Mosman Park. Hear first-hand what it was like to work in the factories and how it felt as a child to run wild in the bush, sleeping out overnight and living off the crabs and prawns from the river.  Factory sirens signalled to children to run home for tea and called to weary workers at the crack at dawn. The Mosman Park Heritage Trail is 10.5km long and takes approximately 3 to 4 hours to complete.
